Reporting to a Board of Management member and leading a class-beating finance team of 5, I have day-to-day financial responsibility for this 100M+ revenue, charitable, genomic research Institute. My duties also include:
Drafting and producing the year end Statutory Accounts.
Managing all third party grants/projects (currently over 200 live), reporting and the audit of that funding subject to each individual funder Terms & Conditions.
Assist and advise in the preparation of externally funded grant budgets and forecasts.
VAT, Treasury management, P35, P11Ds and ONS returns.
Motivation, development and management of the Finance Team.
Advising senior staff on fiscal, legal and personnel issues and be focal point of contact to all external auditors.
Continual evaluation and improvement of the internal financial controls and risk management ensuring all appropriate systems and procedures are robust and defensible and therefore strive toward best practice.
Working with and influencing senior staff at The Wellcome Trust head office towards new group-wide policies, supplier products or guidelines.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant and UK Group Financial Director in the UK headquarters of this US-based multinational, multibillion-dollar company, I was jointly responsible for the production of monthly, quarterly and year end accounts including consolidation of all European divisions and reporting such to US Parent. Interests

Member of my local gym and keen at many sports and an avid follower of most motorsports.
Since Dec 2010 I have been the Vice Chairman of my local Royal British Legion where the Chairman and I (with the support of the Committee) have taken the Club from the brink of closure when we joined to now being a profitable and prospering Club. The Royal British Legion Regional Business Adviser now uses our Business Plan as a model for how to run a Club successfully in his advice to the rest of his region.
I have just commenced the writing of my first book, which is a self-help book for solving emotional issues. I am doing this with the assistance of a former employer, who also trained in Hypnotherapy with me.
