Personal statement

Since working for Rawlinson & Hunter, as a Tax Consultant, I have decided I would rather be involved in creating things than shuffling numbers in finance. I have undertaken a number of online courses to help me determine a more suitable career.

In my year working at Rawlinson & Hunter, I had my own list of 70 clients, it was my responsibility to contact clients via email or phone call to chase up on tax return information. I then had to ensure that all the information was recorded on a spreadsheet and input on to the tax return. Additionally I was in charge of reminding the clients to pay their tax on January 31st and July 31st. I also completed the first exam for the ATT before deciding to change my career path.

Outside of school, I played tennis and squash from the age of about five and I have been coaching squash for the last two years. I coach groups of kids, aged 5 - 14, this has developed my skills in leadership, responsibility and also the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of ages, as well as having to be extremely patient with the younger, less capable children. This has also improved my ability to show enthusiasm and confidence even when I feel nervous. I have also learned to manage my time carefully, so that I am in control of all my commitments.
